WHAT ARE LOAD BINDERS ?
Load Binders are used to tension chain for load restraint during transport. There are two types, lever and ratchet load binders.

WHAT ARE RATCHET LOAD BINDERS ?
Ratchet Binders use ratcheting mechanism to create tension in the chain in order to safely secure the load.
They have a handle, two tension hooks, a cam and prawl mechanism to create a smooth, ratcheting action. Its handle takes much less pulling force compared to Lever Load Binders.
When you using the lever and screw will work together to increase the force applied to the tie-down assembly. As a result, this will tension the chain tightly to secure the load.
WHAT ARE LEVER BINDERS ?
Lever binders have a lever and tension hook on each end. The lever can increase the force when applying to a tie-down.
they will require more pulling force because it stores energy in the handle. As a result it is the least safe option due to the lever’s built-up tension when you release it.
Although the lever can unbind quickly to unload your cargo, Ratchets are considered the safest option due to less built-up tension. This reduces the risk of the bar snapping back on you.
CAN I USE AN EXTENSION BAR TO INCREASE TENSION ?
Many workers find they cannot get satisfactory chain tension so they often use an extension bar to increase the tension. This practice is dangerous because the extension bar can rebound quickly during tightening and releasing and may even fly into the air.
