Pipe lifter failures inspired us to design and manufacture a new generation pipe lifter that is built for the harsh Australian construction environment.
To ensure the safety of workers, lifting large concrete pipes requires the right lifting equipment and the safe work and safety practices.
Absolute Lifting and Safety technicians, frequently inspect and test concrete pipe lifters which lift heavy concrete pipes.
Some pipe lifters fail mandatory inspection and testing; we looked at some of the reasons why these pipe lifters are unsafe and not fit for purpose:
- Wear and deformation to pipe lifter bar – Repeated use of pipe lifters can cause the lifter bar holes to wear and deform, which causes excessive movement and potential for slippage or even failure.
- Bending and deformation to pipe lifting spear – It is common to see pipe lifting spears that have been bent due to shock loading or poor lifting practices.
- How we improved the design of the Concrete Pipe Lifter:
- High-Grade Steel – First we used premium quality high- grade steel for both the lifting spear and the lifting bar. By using high-grade steel, we have increased the safety factor reducing the possibility of deformation due to improved strength and durability.
- Our spear fits both round and rectangle pipe lifting bars – The Aussie-made pipe lifter is designed to fit both our round and rectangle pipe lifting bars making it universal in design.
- Designed and made in Australia – the ALS Pipe Lifter is super durable and RPEQ engineered with certification to AS 4991.
The ALS Pipe Lifter is designed to lift heavy concrete pipes used for underground infrastructure, including storm drainage, sanitary sewers, culverts under roads and many more applications.
There is no better pipe lifter on the market.
